Verizon and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce are hosting on September 29th called: "Empowering Cities: Small Business Disaster Resilience in Boston." In recognition of National Preparedness Month, we are convening disaster resilience experts and civic leaders to discuss how public sector, non-profit, and private partners can collaboratively deliver essential tools and resources to safeguard local commerce. As our communities face increasingly complex challenges, equipping local small businesses to prepare, adapt, and recover is vital for long-term economic resilience. The event features distinguished national and local leaders, including: Brian Swett, Chief Climate Officer for the City of Boston Rob Glenn, Vice President of Global Resilience at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Courtney Schoon, Senior Manager of Responsible Business at Verizon The discussion will showcase practical strategies, resources, and partnership opportunities—drawing on initiatives like Verizon’s Community Disaster Resilience program—to help protect local businesses, residents, and our neighborhood economies.
